Budding Explorers is a twice-a-week play and enrichment group for ages 3.5-6, focused on experiential learning and free play on our 120-acre farm. Children will explore, learn, and play with highly qualified educators who will nurture your child’s social-emotional development while fostering a love for farming and nature. Early afternoon rest time will be offered in our indoor classroom space.
This is a drop-off program, giving parents freedom while their child is engaged in a positive, educational experience. We plan to keep our class size small, with a maximum 7:1 child to teacher ratio. If there is enough interest, we may increase enrollment to 12 children and two full-time teachers. Children must be fully potty trained to participate in the program.
Monday & Thursday ✴ 9 AM – 3 PM

Meet our Lead Teacher
Sam Bator is the Assistant Youth Education Director at Stonewall Farm. She holds an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in Environmental Education from Antioch University New England. Over the past six years, Sam has worked in a variety of roles creating genuine, hands-on outdoor experiences for people of all ages, including her time as a lead teacher in a nature-based preschool classroom, ages 3-4. She loves creating learning opportunities for students that include exploration and utilizing all the senses and finds that both natural and farm environments provide unique learning opportunities, particularly for younger learners. During the learning process, Sam asks questions that spark children’s natural curiosity, ultimately leading to a deeper understanding and appreciation of the nuances of the natural world.
