Basics of Knitting (Adult)

Discover the joy of creating your very own cozy socks! Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to brush up on your skills, this class will guide you step-by-step through the process of knitting a pair of comfy, custom-fit socks. This class includes two sessions, with “homework” in between; the first class will get you started, then we will join together for the second class to learn how to finish the project, allowing you to practice your skills and make progress at your own pace. Learn essential techniques like casting on, working with circular needles, shaping heels, and finishing toes. By the end of the course, you’ll have the practical skills to make a beautiful pair of hand-knitted socks! Perfect for anyone eager to explore the world of knitting in a fun, supportive environment.

When: Thursdays January 16th & 30th at 5:30 PM (will run approximately 1.5 – 2 hours max) with “homework” between sessions

Where: Stonewall Farm, 242 Chesterfield Rd, Keene, NH. In the Learning Center, first floor (same building as the Farm Store)

Materials Needed:

  • US size 1.5 (2.5mm) 24″-32″ circular needle
  • 100g of fingering weight sock yarn; possibly more for those with feet larger than size 10-11

Cost: $65/person and includes expert instruction, sock pattern, and links to reference videos. You’ll gain the skills and understanding to make your very own pair of socks! Materials not included, and must be purchased before the first class.
