Remembering Greylock: A Beloved Member of Our Stonewall Farmily

It is with heavy hearts that we share that Greylock, our beloved alpaca and faithful guardian, crossed the rainbow bridge this morning. Born in 2009, Greylock spent many wonderful years here at Stonewall Farm, watching over our flocks and greeting visitors with his calm and curious spirit.

Greylock was more than just an animal on the farm — he was a steadfast protector, a gentle presence, and a cherished member of our small livestock family. He stood guard over our sheep and goats, keeping a watchful eye and offering quiet reassurance to all who shared his pasture. His dignified, calm, and kind eyes made an impression on everyone who met him — from campers learning about farm life to visitors walking the trails.

Animals like Greylock remind us of the deep connections we share with the land and all living things. His role on the farm embodied the very heart of Stonewall Farm’s mission — to nurture, protect, and learn from the natural world around us.

Though the pastures will feel a little emptier without him, Greylock’s spirit will remain part of Stonewall Farm. We will carry his memory with us in every sunrise over the pasture he once roamed, and in the care we continue to give to the animals and land he helped protect.

Thank you, Greylock, for your years of gentle watchfulness and quiet devotion. You will be deeply missed by all of us — staff, volunteers, visitors, and your four-legged farm family alike.

Gone from our pastures, never from our hearts.
