Knit Your First Sweater!

Tuesdays Oct 27, Nov 10 & Dec 1

Presented by Briana Cashman, Owl Hill Homestead

Ready to knit your first sweater? Join us for a three-class workshop using the free Flax Worsted pattern from Tin Can Knits. This simple raglan-style sweater is designed for knitters who have mastered the basics and are ready to take on a larger project. The pattern is unisex and includes sizes from baby through adult.

We’ll work through the sweater together, learning how to read the pattern, shape and construct a seamless raglan sweater, and troubleshoot along the way. The pattern includes an optional garter-stitch panel along the sleeves, which you can knit or skip depending on your preference.

This workshop is for advanced beginners. Participants should already be comfortable with casting on and working both knit and purl stitches.

Materials to bring:

  • Worsted-weight yarn in the amount recommended for your chosen size
  • Knitting needles in the sizes recommended by the pattern, including the appropriate circular needle(s)
  • Stitch markers
  • Tapestry needle
  • Scissors
  • A measuring tape is helpful

Class dates: Tuesdays, October 27, November 10 & December 1

Time: 5:30–7:00/7:30 PM

Cost: $65 for all three classes
