Stonewall Farm has been a pioneer in farm-based education for nearly 30 years, partnering with local schools to connect students with food, farming, and the natural world. Whether you are starting a school garden, expanding an existing program, or simply looking for ways to bring hands-on food and agriculture learning into your classroom, our team can help.
Garden-Based Learning
Best for schools with an existing or developing garden
Students bring the school garden to life through hands-on planting, harvesting, and lessons that build observation, collaboration, and environmental stewardship.
Includes:
★ 14 one-hour, SWF educator-led lessons at your school (7 in spring, 7 fall)
★ Lessons aligned with classroom learning goals
★ Option to swap one on-site lesson for a two-hour fi eld trip to SWF
★ Optional visits from small farm animals (i.e. chicks, bunny)
**Featured option: Grade 1 (spring) & Grade 2 (fall). A ready to go, 2 season model with pre-designed scope and sequence. Includes 16 one-hour lessons (8 in spring, 8 in fall) at the standard Garden-Based Learning rate.
Farm to Classroom
Ideal for schools without garden space
No garden? No problem! Students explore regenerative farming and healthy food choices through experiential, classroom-based lessons. Topics may include pollinators, composting, animal life cycles, cooking and nutrition, seeds, and more.
Includes:
★ 7 one-hour lessons led by SWF educators in a single season (spring, winter, or fall) OR dive deeper with 14 one-hour lessons spread across the full school year
★ Custom scope and sequence developed with teachers
★ Option to swap one on-site lesson for a two-hour fi eld trip to SWF
★ Optional visits from small farm animals (i.e. chicks, bunny)
Project Design
For schools looking to start a garden or other farm-related project
Have a project in mind? We’ll come to your school to support planning, design, and setup, then help students build the skills to continue the project independently. Options range from gardens and berry patches to composting, chicken coops, incubating chicks, rabbit and worm bin systems, and more.
Includes:
★ Four one-hour lessons led by SWF educators in a single season (spring, winter, or fall) — OR dive deeper with eight one-hour lessons spread across the full school year (Sept–June).
★ 1 planning and design session with teachers and admin; up to four hours after school or on the weekend
★ 1 workday for initial project setup; up to four hours after school or on the weekend
★ Option to substitute a two-hour fi eld trip to SWF in place of one on-site lesson.

Programs are designed for grades K-5, and can be adapted for Pre-K, middle, high school, college, and summer camp! Programs are offered at your school. Travel within 15 miles of Stonewall Farm is included; additional educator travel fees may apply and will be quoted during scheduling.
